Family time at The Aldrich: exploring, creating, discovering

Nearly one-hundred adults and children, snow-boots and all, flocked to The Aldrich today for Third Saturdays. The children and adults enjoyed immersing themselves in the Mexican tradition of piñatas by experimenting with various techniques and creating and decorating paper-mâché sculptures.

Guest artist, Lucia Hierro, a Dominican artist from Manhattan, was on-hand to chat with those in attendance and join in the creative fun.

"Ruby loves art and we want to encourage it," said Ridgefield resident and Third Saturdays attendee, Patty Labozzo. "I am an artist," Ruby chimed in.

Third Saturdays at the Aldrich, lead by Museum educator Michelle Friedman, bring exhibits to life and allows and encourages families to get creative - together.
