JOB POSTING – EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR at Prospector Theater

The Prospector Theater, a 501(c)(3) movie theater and training center in Ridgefield, Connecticut that employs and trains adults with disabilities, seeks for immediate hire an Employment Coordinator.

Position:

· The Prospector Theater is excited to offer a team of employees meaningful employment and training opportunities at our Movie Theater in a competitive, integrated work environment. The Employment Coordinator will assess, recruit, hire, train, schedule and mentor Prospector Employees and Volunteers.

· The exceptional candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of The Prospector Theater.

Responsibilities:

· Work with Department Managers to identify and fill meaningful positions within The Prospector Theater that will be productive, fulfill goals, and enhance self-worth.

· Create and implement individualized work schedules for Employees and Volunteers.

· Work diligently on the goal of excellent service and environment at a first run, commercial movie theater.

· Be an advocate and connection to the local business community.

· Individualize each Employee's career goals, and work towards those career goals.

· Work with mangers to think outside the box to ensure the sustainability of the theater.

· Celebrate and communicate accomplishments of employees to management and the public

· Investigate and implement internships, volunteer positions, and teach the community about the mission of The Prospector Theater.

· Turn passions into professions while training towards jobs.

· Plan and conduct job fairs. Recruit pools of applicants for consideration.

· Plan and conduct new Employee and new Volunteer orientations.

· Work with Employees to determine reasonable accommodations (as necessary) to make a job accessible and each Employee successful.

· Interface with Payroll service provider.

· Maintain employment records, employee database, and ensure labor reporting and posting compliance.

· Maintain knowledge of reporting regulations affecting employment functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.

· Maintain records of and administer benefits plans such as insurance, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.

· Administer employee performance review program.

Qualifications:

· Experience working with diverse groups.

· High energy, "can-do" attitude, flexibility, teamwork and attention to detail.

· Demonstrated ability to cultivate and manage new employees and volunteers.

· Desire and ability to work hard both individually and as a team, to be creative and compassionate, strict yet empathetic, and ready to learn and grow.

· Commitment to the mission of The Prospector.

Additional Qualifications:

· Excellent written communication, computer, research and organizational skills.

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline from four-year college or university.

· Three (3) to five (5) years relevant work experience in Human Resources.

· Knowledge of employment as well as disability-related Connecticut and federal regulations strongly preferred.

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:

· Work is performed in an office environment and within a movie theater.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active volunteer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone.

· May be subject to repetitive motion such as typing, data entry and vision to monitor.

· May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
