Ridgefield Education Foundation and The Aldrich are local partners

The Ridgefield Educational Foundation is sponsoring two events at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in November.

  1. Curator-Led Family Art Adventure: Color, Form and Process (Tuesday, November 4, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

Join Aldrich’s expert curator Amy Smith-Stewart in this creative and interactive opportunity uniquely designed for children and their parents and caregivers. Explore the exhibitions of Kate Gilmore, Jackie Winsor, and David Scanavino. Look closely, listen and learn from each other, and create your own colorful works of art inspired by hands-on activities in the museum’s galleries.

  2. Evening for Educators: PenchaKucha Night (Thursday, November 20, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.)

Our Educators will experience a lively gathering in the PechaKucha 20x20 format. The objective of PechaKucha is to create an informal and inspiring environment where creative people get together and share their work, thoughts and ideas. To keep presentations concise and fast-paced, presenters show 20 slides for 20 seconds each (six minutes and 40 seconds in total). Join us for an inspiring evening as we spend the first hour participating in private mini-tours of the 50th anniversary exhibitions and then hear from a leading classroom and museum educators on innovative strategies for cross-disciplinary learning both in and out of the classroom.
