Basil Yoga Center Offers Teen Yoga

Relaxing, Regrouping & Reconnecting Young Adults

Today's teens are faced with challenging issues: stressful schedules, pressure to fit in, changing bodies, and uncertainty about their feelings and their futures.

Basil Yoga Center is offering Teen Yoga: Holding Sacred Space, a series of classes for this particular group.  In addition to gaining strength and flexibility, the class will teach techniques for coping with the unique issues teens are confronted with everyday.

In this six-week series, instructor Rosa Esposito will give students effective yogic tools to handle stress, anger, anxiety, and other challenges facing teens. Students will have fun, strengthen their bodies and minds, and develop compassion and self-confidence.

“Yoga can help teenagers build better relationships and stronger communities,” said Christine Brooking, manager of Basil Yoga Center. “Teen yoga especially encourages teamwork and fosters friendship, respect and compassion for oneself and others.”

Classes are held on Saturdays at 1 pm from October 4th - November 8th at the Basil Yoga Center, 31 Bailey Avenue. The cost is $150 for the series. Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, visit www.basilyoga.com, or call 203-403-2280.
