CRAFTING NORDIC HATS FOR THE HOLIDAYS

What could be a more welcomed gift than a colorful Nordic hat with warm earflaps? Come, sit by the
fire, meet new friends and join veteran knitter Kate Schwartz for this three week program. Materials to bring with you: If using just one color: 1 skein (about 130 yards) for baby, child and woman hat--2 skeins for man hat. If using two colors (for contrast/design), two skeins, one of each color, double pointed needles and size 8 needles.

ENTERTAINING WITH EASE

Hosting a dinner party is a wonderful way to celebrate life with friends and family this holiday season. From soup to nuts, we’ll show you how to pull off a great dinner party of your own. With some great planning tips and make-ahead seasonal recipes, you’ll be inspired to dust off the china and polish the silver
for the holidays! In addition to fabulous recipes
and techniques, you’ll also learn how planning and preparing ahead will allow you to actually enjoy your guests. Gather around the butcher block for an evening full of hands-on recipes, delicious food and wine.
Our guest home-chef this evening is Tracy Castelli. She lives in Wilton with her two daughters, who have been working in their mom’s organic vegetable garden since they were babies. Tracy is a horticulturalist and landscape designer with a passion for great local food, home entertaining...and feeding her
loved ones. Mangia!!
Family Programs

Our fantastic astronomy volunteers will be on hand for an evening of star and planet gazing. Gaze through our telescopes with connections for Smart Phone photography! The observatory has a wooden deck to stand on and an adjacent heated building in which to warm up. Please park at the Learning Center and bring a flashlight for your walk out to Astronomy Hill. Farm fresh hot chocolate will be served! Park at the Learning Center.
NATIVE AMERICAN CELEBRATION
Sunday, November 2, 1–3:30 pm
Sit in our thatched longhouse and barked wigwam and take a trip back in time to learn about the Eastern Woodland Indians that walked these lands. Learn how arrowheads, spears and other tools were created and used, make pinch pots, play Native American games, hear legends, and enjoy traditional foods as you learn about Native American cooking methods.
$15/person ($45 max./member family) $20/person ($60 max./nonmember family)

Joy us for a fun-filled afternoon learning about these incredible flying mammals, their habitats, their foods, and why they are so important to our environment!
Knitting Class for Boys and Girls Ages 8 and Up three sessions on sundays
(11/9, 11/16, 11/23), 2-3p.m.
Create a Bean Bag using New Pond Farm Wool. Join Kate Schwartz, a NPF mom that loves connecting hands and heart with art as she teaches young knitters how to create colorful bean bags, just in time for sharing holiday gifts! NPF yarns will be provided but please bring: Needles size 8 or 9 (9” or 10”).

WOODLAND INDIANS

We will spend the afternoon learning what life was like when the Eastern Woodland Indians traversed our land. Visit our wigwam and longhouse, learn about cooking with hot rocks, play traditional games and enjoy native snacks!
