What does this mean?
After nearly 15 years in the retail pet industry, I will be closing Animal Fair on April 24, 2015. It’s time for me to move on and focus on my family and my own pets, to spend more time training and competing with my dogs, to travel with my husband and sons, and to enjoy life on the Connecticut shoreline.
In other words, it’s time to retire!
I will miss all of you, my valued customers, many of whom have become friends over the past decade and a half.
I’ll miss seeing your dogs and your children, your rabbits, guinea pigs, and other pets.
The nitty gritty:
We approached several potential buyers for the business over the past year. Unfortunately, due to current market conditions, a qualified buyer could not be identified.
Where will I buy my --------?
I know this is the hardest part for me -- and for my customers. You’ve come to depend on our particular brands of supplies, our advice, and our willingness to special order. Over the next few weeks, I will be working with my suppliers and local retailers to move some of our exclusive lines to other stores. We will have a list of suggested sources for foods and supplies available when those agreements are finalized.
What’s happening now?
We will continue our regular orders through mid-April.
You may special order anything we carry (that we order through distribution) so you may stock up, such as foods or treats.
All special orders must be prepaid and picked up by April 24.
We will be discounting merchandise beginning immediately.
The daily discounts, by department will be posted on our Facebook page, and at the front of the store.
Beginning immediately, all food and treats will be 10% off, and all non-consumable goods will be 25% off.
Additional markdowns will occur as we go through the month. Additionally, the fixtures will be for sale.
Please stop in to say goodbye and take advantage of the discounts -- I’m only going to retire once and we are celebrating the process!
