Dover Saddlery to open at 720 Branchville Road in Ridgefield

Ancona's Wines & Liquor and CVS will soon have a new neighbor at 720 Branchville Road. Dover Saddlery has applied for signage with Ridgefield Department of Planning and Zoning.

Dover Saddlery has an open building permit filed with Ridgefield Building Department to renovate the 8,000 square feet of retail space which will have two restrooms.

The upscale equestrian shop was founded in 1975 by Jim and David Powers, former members of the USET 3-Day Event Team. Dover Saddlery presently has 28 retail locations throughout the country, according to their website.

According to a report in Bloomberg Business, Dover Saddlery, an equestrian product retail store offering English-style and Western-style riding products, announced this past summer their plans to open stores in Manchester and Ridgefield in 2015.

Dover Saddlery boasts that they sell the finest selection of saddles, tack and riding apparel from the leading equestrian brands. In addition, the stores will offer boot, helmet and coat fittings, a saddle testing program, custom items as well as a monogramming service.
