New lease on life with Results

Results Personal Training & Fitness Center, located in the heart of town, will soon have even more options to counter pain and the effects of injury and aging. In addition to the popular RedZone heart-monitored workouts and neuromuscular therapy techniques of Louis Thiel LMT, CNMT being offered at the cutting-edge fitness facility, people of all ages can get relief and a new lease on life with MATTM (Muscle Activation Techniques).

What is MAT?  A proven method that reactivates non-working muscles to bring back range of motion and strength to help people feel better and do more. In short, MATmay be the best remedy for what ails you.

Results owner Salim Mikhael will soon be the only MAT practitioner in Fairfield County and one of only five MAT specialists in Connecticut. While he completes course work for certification, he invites people to take advantage of a complimentary assessment and application of Muscle Activation Techniques.  Through a combination of evaluation, testing and feed back, Salim can assess a client’s individual needs and work on weak areas that are limiting movement and the ability to do daily tasks. As Salim explains, “Whenever there is a limitation in motion (muscle tightness), it is an indication that one or more of the muscles on the opposite side of the axis cannot contract efficiently, so there is weakness in various parts of the body. Using the Muscle Activation Techniques method of assessment, I can correct muscular imbalances, joint instability, and limitations in range of motion. It is a non-invasive technique, designed to balance the muscular system of people of all ages.”

Think of it as a special systematic approach to jumpstarting inactive muscles in order for them to function with maximum efficiency. “Everyone -- from people who have finished their physical therapy, to weekend warriors, elite athletes, and anyone in between can benefit from MAT”, adds Salim. MAT has been successfully implemented with professional athletes (NFL, NBA, NHL, CFL, PGA, etc.) in clinical rehabilitative and personal training environments. In no time at all, daily activities are easier, whether that means throwing 100-yard passes or walking up the stairs!

MAT makes it easier to exercise with better results and is different from other techniques because it never attempts to directly lengthen or change the muscle by stretching, heating, kneading, or foam rolling. “MAT is not trying to “relax” muscle, but instead tries to “activate” the muscle, so that your body is better prepared to handle the forces that come from exercise and every day movements,” explains Salim.

Simply put, anyone suffering from the aging process, which typically brings about loss in muscle mass and some level of arthritis or injury, can benefit from MAT. If something just does not feel right, it can be due to pain or instability in a joint, muscle tension, tight hamstrings and lower back, shin splints or aching knees. The new Muscle Activation Techniques now being offered at Results may be the best remedy for what ails you.
