Glee Star Lights Up Ridgefield Playhouse

Matthew Morrison; broadway actor, and star of hit TV series, “Glee”, brought down the house last night at our very own Ridgefield Playhouse. Morrison dazzled audiences with a mashup of jazz, broadway, and even some of his own compositions. He performed songs such as Come Fly with Me, Lady and the Tramp and even some hits from “Finding Neverland”, his most recent work which he left in early January.

Morrison added a hint of humor and sarcasm to the show, which you don’t see in most concerts. He stated that “I love being able to perform live, I love being able to see people’s reactions, or not reactions.” As the show wore on, Matthew decided to make all the Gleeks in the room happy and do “Singing in the Rain, and Fix You” which he dedicated to Cory Monteith, who passed away in July of 2013. He ended the night strong with a medley of songs from the hit show “Hairspray” where he starred as Link Larkin in 2002.

“During the second season of “Glee,” Morrison admitted, I started to get complacent, and that’s when I realized that I wanted to be on stage.” For 16 years, Matthew Morrison has been brilliant both on TV and Broadway. Not only can he sing, he also has quite the moves! It’s no wonder why he’s had such a successful career.
