The Keeler Tavern invites you to take an historical selfie

Take A Selfie where #ArtMeetsHistory

There are currently two cannonballs on Main Street. The first, the “real” cannonball at Keeler Tavern Museum, was fired into the colonial tavern during the Battle of Ridgefield in 1777. The second, at The Aldrich Museum, was fired into a section of gallery wall in 2016 – part of the project Proposals for The Aldrich by artist Peter Liversidge.

The “real” cannonball can be viewed on the exterior of the Keeler Tavern Museum. Stop by and share a selfie, like Catherine Prescott, pictured above, and post it to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter using the hashtags #TheRealCannonball and #ArtMeetsHistory.

The Keeler Tavern Museum is open for guided tours Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 1 – 4 p.m, where visitors can hear the story of the Battle of Ridgefield. The contemporary cannonball, where #ArtMeetsHistory, can be viewed in the South Gallery of The Aldrich Museum during their open hours, Wednesday to Monday. For more information on the two cannonballs, visit keelertavernmuseum.org and aldrichart.org.
