The Enchanting Art of Dance: Ridgefield Conservatory's Open House Delights All

The doors of Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance (RCD) swung open to visitors last Friday and Saturday during Art Walk. The art of dance beckoned people in from Main Street to learn a bit about this distinguished performing arts school.

Two days of Open House activities and fun included free mini trial classes and both hip-hop and pre-ballet. "Parents and siblings joined in for a hip-hop jam with Garrett Minniti* and visitors got to preview characters from our new original Star Wars- inspired ballet ("The Force") which will be held at Ridgefield Playhouse in June," said RCD Artistic Director, Amy Piantaggini.

In addition to the the dance classes offered to attendees, RCD dancers donned beautiful tutus and gave tours of RCD's beautiful spacious 3-studio home created with state-of-the-art Harlequin flooring.

"Passersby and attendees even had the opportunity to peek in on a student rehearsal for the "Young Choreographer's Festival" which will take place this fall at the Palace Theater in Stamford," recalls Piantaggini.
