The Variety Shoppe on Main to Close

Anila Sharma, the owner of The Variety Shoppe located at 446 Main Street, announced today on her Facebook Page that she will close her shoppe on Sunday, October 2.

For more than a decade, Anila Sharma operated the BP station and mini-mart on Danbury Road. She brought her love of all things "Variety" to Main Street on April 18, 2014.

She wrote this note to Ridgefield residents:

Dear Ridgefield,

We want to thank you for all the support, love and care you have shown the Variety shoppe over the last 3 years. Sadly we will be closing the store on Sunday October 2nd, next week. This was a hard decision for us. I have done business in Ridgefield for now 23 years. I've seen kids from infant to college and some even to having their own kids. We've been treated like family by so many of you, and we want each one of you to know how much we appreciate and love all of you. We love Ridgefield and it will always remain a part of us.

Please stop in the store we will be here till next Sunday, Indian food will be available every single day till closing and we do have sales going on in store.

Thanks for everything,

The Variety Shoppe

Thank you, Anila, for bringing variety and joy to Main Street. We wish you the best as you begin a new chapter.
