Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance Offers FREE Classes for Adults in November

Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, northern Fairfield County’s only non-profit dance studio, gives back to the community with FREE classes for adults in November.

This is your chance to check out the beautiful facility.  There’s a lot more to RCD than the lovely studio you see from Main Street filled with young dancers in pre-ballet classes.

Did you know RCD includes three studios plus student and parent lounges?  Artistic Director Amy Piantaggini says “We want the community to have a chance to meet our faculty who boast professional backgrounds from top ballet and modern companies, educational backgrounds, and in the case of our hip hop teacher Garrett Minniti, even successful commercial dance careers”. The adult class line-up includes:

Barre Fitness with Mary Beth Hansohn

Incorporating ballet technique, resistance training, mat work and cardio to give you a ballet dancer's streamlined and toned look. Class is completed with stretches to lengthen the body and cool down the muscles after the workout. Socks or bare feet are suitable. Please bring a towel. Saturdays 8-9 am.

Yoga with Mary Beth Hansohn

Stretch & strengthen with hatha yoga for adults & teens. Saturdays 12:30-1:30 pm. Please bring a yoga mat.

Ballet with Dona Wiley

Always wanted to try ballet? Or been away from it for a while? We offer beginning instruction in ballet for adults & teens. Mondays 7:30-8:30 pm.

Hip Hop with Garrett Minniti

Fun cardio workout, old-school style. Thursdays 10:45-11:45 am.

Ms. Piantaggini says “Free adult classes in November is a response to our initiative to serve the community.  We wanted to give back by bringing dance to our town’s hard-working residents.  We have many annual community collaborations, such as our performance with Festival of Trees supporting cancer support services for Ann’s Place, and our participation with Danbury Dance Initiative’s Khalda Logan Scholarship Benefit performance which raises money for Danbury residents, and I wanted to add to our newer community projects like our continued collaboration with SPHERE by bringing dance to adults!”

So why not give them a try?  It’s all free for adults age 18 and up in November! Drop-ins for each class; up to 20 attendees per class.

To register, email information@ridgefielddance.org or call 203-438-5597 and specify which class(es) you would like to attend.

*Please note: this offer only applies to classes taught by RCD faculty. All classes taught by outside rentals including Zumba and weekday morning yoga are not eligible.
