New Pond Farm launches pilot program for homeschoolers: The Art of the Tale

New Pond Farm Education Center is pleased to announce an exciting Pilot Program, specifically designed for Homeschoolers ages 7-14.

The much admired sculptor and artist, Justin Perlman, in collaboration with well known puppeteer and dancer, Adelka Polak, will be offering a six-week program at the environmental center in West Redding. This exciting team of educators will bring visual and performing arts together in a meaningful way.

Young artists will sharpen their communication skills through storytelling and art using a hands-on approach and utilizing creative processes inspired by the land. Students will learn some of the many ways in which people express ideas and the tools by which they do this. Appreciation of the resources is a significant part of this program.

There will be time spent out-of-doors gathering materials and in nature play, as well as time in the studio developing storytelling tools, which may include puppets, masks, and movement.

Tuesdays February 7-March 14 (21st will be reserved as a snow date), 12:30-2:30 p.m.

$215 per New Pond Farm Member, $240 per Non-member

Please register online or call (203) 938-2117.
