New Baseball Field in Ridgefield Heads to Public Hearing on May 16

Ridgefield Little League Board of Directors (BOD) is asking for community support as they embark on an exciting journey to bring a brand new lighted baseball field to Ridgefield.

"Little League has been a fixture in Ridgefield for over 60 years, helping thousands of families experience the joy of this great game," the Ridgefield Little League Board of Directors explain.

Located on a now vacant lot off Route 7 at the Simpaug Turnpike, the new field will be equipped with LED lights, announcer's booth, concessions stand, a storage room and have plenty of parking.

"A lighted facility will allow for later practices and games, especially in the spring and fall seasons which have seen an increase in enrollment," the Little League BOD explain. Additionally, the field will allow Ridgefield to host tournaments and district competitions with neighboring towns.

The Little League BOD is encouraging residents to attend the Ridgefield Planning and Zoning Public Hearing on Tuesday May 16 at 7:30pm to show support for this project.

"Ridgefield Little League has always been 100 percent self-sufficient but now we need your help to ensure future generations of kids enjoy the game we all love," they say.
