Advance Sponsorships Now Available to Local Businesses and Organizations

The Ridgefield Library today announced plans for its second annual “Love Your Library” (LYL) celebrationon Friday and Saturday, September 15-16, 2017. Celebrating a centerpiece of Ridgefield’s cultural heritage, the event will highlight the breadth of the programming offered by the Library, and the integral role the town and its citizens play in its continued success.

“Love Your Library helps raise awareness of the many programs and services that the Library offers to the community while also helping us raise vital funds to support ongoing operations,” said Brenda McKinley, Library Director. “It’s a way of thanking our regular patrons and a warm welcome to neighbors from around town who may not be familiar with all the services and programs that the Library has to offer.”

The Library is planning a number of activities in and around Ridgefield designed to excite and inspire the curious of all ages. Plans include:

  •   The Inaugural Challenge Cup, a Mini-Golf tournament inside the Library for adult teams of four on Friday, September 15 from 6:00   to 9:00 p.m., with wine, beer, appetizers and music in the Bossidy Commons.
  •   Indoor Mini-Golf and various activities for families throughout the Library all day Saturday, September 16th.
  •   A summer Playwriting Contest for middle and high school students, culminating in staged readings of the winning plays on Friday evening, September 15 at the Ridgefield Playhouse featuring members of the Ridgefield High School Theatre Group.
  •   LYL fundraising activities as Library volunteers appear at various sporting events and locations around town to distribute information, give out free LYL Bookmarks, and collect donations.

Advance sponsorship packages are now available to local businesses and benefactors, including a Presenting Sponsor package that features a month-long promotion of a “19th Hole” in the Library’s entrance. All 18 Mini-Golf holes are available for sponsorship, with a contest for “best decorated hole” designed to inspire the creativity and artistic vision of local businesses, organizations and individuals.

“We hope that sponsors approach decorating their holes as if they were designing floats for the Tournament of Roses Parade – the more creative and visually exciting, the more buzz you’ll create for your business,” said McKinley. “The entire weekend will be a great way for the community to come together to celebrate and show their support for one of this town’s most treasured cultural institutions.”

Organizations interested in securing advance sponsorship packages can contact Laureen Bubniak, the Library’s Director of Development, at 203-438-2282, x11029 or at LMBubniak@RidgefieldLibrary.org or go to www.ridgefieldlibrary.org.
