Ice Cream, Antique Fire Engines, & More at the Little Red Schoolhouse Open House on Sunday!

Join The Little Red Schoolhouse for an Open House this Sunday, July 30.

This Sunday, July 30th, the Little Red Schoolhouse will be hosting an open house. On this special open house, guests can enjoy a 1956 Ford Fire Engine, ice cream on the lawn courtesy of GiGi's Family Ice Cream Truck, antique toys and quill writing for kids, and other activities. As well, there will be a short video on Peter Parley, also known as Samuel Goodrich, a Ridgefield author who went to school at the schoolhouse in 1796, and devoted a chapter in a book he wrote to it.

The Open House is from 1 to 4 pm, with additional parking marked. As usual, there is no fee.

Built in 1756, the Little Red Schoolhouse is one of the oldest buildings in town, working as a museum of old Ridgefield.

The Little Red Schoolhouse, also known as Peter Parley Schoolhouse, is located at the corner of West Lane and South Salem Road (off Connecticut 35) in historic Ridgefield, CT.
