Mum's the word at the Cass Gilbert Fountain

Falling for the Cass Gilbert Fountain - where mum's the word. There's so much to love about the colorful season of fall in the quintessential New England town we call home.

Longtime Ridgefield residents and fabulous fountain duo, Mary and Steve Hicks are part of Ridgefield's Fountain Committee, a group dedicated to the beautification of our town landmark. Thank you to Mary and Steve for the amazing display of fall at our Fountain.

The Ridgefield Fountain which stands on the corner of Main Street and West Lane serves as a defining and welcoming landmark to those who enter, a historical nucleus to those who call Ridgefield home. It was designed in 1915 by world famous architect Cass Gilbert who gifted the fountain to the town. Gilbert, who fashioned the Woolworth Building in New York and the US Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C., once purchased Keeler Tavern as a summer residence. He died in 1934 but his legacy in architecture lives on.
