Four People in the Hospital After Early Morning Accident on North Salem Road

On September 14 at approximately 12:50 a.m. Ridgefield Police responded to a 2 car motor vehicle accident on North Salem Road, near the intersection of Continental Drive.

A southbound vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a northbound vehicle. The operator of the northbound vehicle, Richard Tango, needed to be extracted from his vehicle, and the two passengers, Robert Wendell of Ridgefield, and Jim Cebry of Newtown, were transported to Danbury Hospital. The operator of the southbound vehicle, Alex Valentin of Ridgefield, was also transported to the hospital. 

North Salem Road was closed while police investigated the incident. 

No action has been taken at this time. The accident remains under investigation.

Update: Rick Tango out of surgery. Recovery will take a very long time, but he is OK. The other passengers that were in Rick's car are doing well now. No info on the driver of the second vehicle. 

We have word that Rick Tango is at Yale New Haven Hospital having surgery for several broken bones.
