Police Blotter - Driving Under the Influence & Drug Paraphernalia

On Friday, September 13, A New York woman was stopped for a cell phone violation on Main Street. A check of her name revealed that her driving privileges had been suspended in Connecticut.  She was issued a Misdemeanor Summons for Operating a Motor Vehicle while under suspension and the cell phone violation. She was released on a written promise to appear in Danbury Court on September 30. 

 

On Saturday, September 14, Police responded to a two car motor vehicle crash on North Salem Road near the intersection with Continental Drive. A South Bound vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a North Bound vehicle. The operator of the North bound vehicle needed to be extracted by the Ridgefield Fire Dept. The operator of the North bound vehicle and the two passengers were transported to the Danbury hospital. The operator of the South bound vehicle was also transported to the hospital. North Salem Road was closed while the Police preformed an investigation. No action was taken at this time. The MVA was still under investigation. For more please click here

 

On Saturday, September 14, Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Ethan Allen Highway. A K-9 sniff of the vehicle indicated the presence of a narcotic odor. A search of the vehicle discovered drug paraphernalia. The operator was issued an infraction for possession of drug paraphernalia. A court date of October 13 was set. 

 

On Monday, September 16, While in a traffic stop it was determined that the operator was operating while under the influence of alcohol. The operator was also charged with Failure to drive right and yield to oncoming traffic while turning left. The operator was processed and released after he obtained a bail bondsman for his “sons” bond. He was given an October 2nd court date. 

 

On Wednesday, September 18, Police investigated a car parked up on Pine Mountain Road. Further investigation indicated that the operator was in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was issued an infraction and given an answer date of October 17.
