Marconi designates September 22 as Family Day

First Selectman Rudy Marconi issued a proclamation today declaring September 22 as "Family Day," and going forward, the fourth Monday of September as "National Family Day ~ a Day to Eat Dinner with your Children."

In the proclamation, Marconi cites information from a 17-year research study by The National Center for Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University that found children that eat dinner as a family are less likely to smoke, drink or use illegal drugs.

To help family eat dinner together tonight, the Ridgefield Boys and Girls Club is offering a free Family Dinner at their facility on Governor Street.  Besides dinner, there will be fun and games.  To learn more and to register, please click here.
