VOTE in Ridgefield Town Referendum TOMORROW!

• Polling place: Yanity Gym, 60 Prospect Street
• Hours: 6 am to 8 pm

Pursuant to Section 7-7 of the Connecticut General Statutes of the State of Connecticut, as amended, notice is hereby given to the legal voters of the Town of Ridgefield that a referendum will be held on February 24, 2015 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) for the purpose of voting on the following question:

1. “Shall the Town of Ridgefield sell a certain parcel of property consisting of 9.858 acres of land located on Sunset Lane (formerly a portion of the “Schlumberger Corporate Headquarters Property”), to Charter Group Partners, LLC for the sum of $4,300,000 and further subject to such other terms and conditions as more particularly set forth in a contract between the Town of Ridgefield and Charter Group Partners, LLC, which is available for inspection in the Ridgefield Town Clerk’s office, the office of the First Selectman and on the Town website, be approved?”

The ballot label for said question shall read as follows:

“Shall the Town of Ridgefield sell to Charter Group Partners, LLC 9.858 acres of land located on Sunset Lane for the construction of up to 54 units, all of which are to be age restricted, for the sum of $4,300,000, with the proceeds to be used to offset the cost of the purchase?”

YES - NO

The vote will be by voting tabulators.

• Those in favor of the resolution referred to in the question shall fill in the oval near the word “YES” under such question.
• Those not in favor of the resolution referred to in the question shall fill in the oval near the word “NO” under such question.
• Absentee ballots will be available at the office of the Town Clerk as provided by law. Absentee ballots will be counted at the following location: Yanity Gym, 60 Prospect Street. The polls will be open during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. (E.S.T.).

Electors will cast their votes at the following polling place: Yanity Gym, 60 Prospect Street.  Persons qualified to vote in Town Meetings who are not electors shall vote at the Yanity Gym.

The vote on the aforesaid resolution is taken under the authority of Section 7-7 of the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended, and the votes will be cast and canvassed and the results determined and certified as nearly as may be in accordance with the laws governing the election of the Town officials.
