Ridgefield Police Report: home burglary, MVA, suspended license

October 19- Ridgefield Police responded to a residential burglary on Ridgebury Road. The homeowners contacted the police after they came home to found their home had been ransacked. Ridgefield PD discovered that the back sliding glass store had been smashed and several items from the home had been taken. This case is still under investigation. 

October 20- A Ridgefield woman turned herself into the Ridgefield Police Department on a warrant for arrest for the charges of having no insurance and following too close. She was then processed and given a written promise to appear in court.

October 21- While conducting speed enforcement on Branchville Road a Ridgefield woman was pulled over by Ridgefield Police for not having lights illuminating her license plate. Upon further investigation it was revealed that her license had been suspended. She was released with a written promise to appear in court.

October 25- Notified that a motor vehicle accident had occurred, Ridgefield Police responded to the intersection of Great Hill and Limestone Road. Two cars had been in the accident and one of the cars had fled the scene. Upon further investigation it was determined a Ridgefield man had indeed hit the other car while under the influence of alcohol. He was charged with a DUI, evading a motor vehicle accident, and failure to drive right. A street sign was also damaged during the incident. The operator was charged and assigned a court date.
