Ridgefield Police Reports: Stealing from Stop & Shop, DUI, 4 Car MVA & More

January 19- Ridgefield Police were dispatched to Valero gas station on Danbury Road when a report of an unconscious man was called in. Upon arrival the police identified the man and called for an ambulance to transport him to the hospital. The man from Ridgefield was charged with a DUI and given a court date for the offenses.

January 20- During a routine traffic patrol, Ridgefield police pulled over a vehicle on Route 7 for a red light violation. Investigation revealed that the operator was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A written warning was issues for the red light violation and an infraction was issued for the possession charges.

January 22- Ridgefield Police responded to a call from Stop and Shop after a theft had been reported from the store's Loss Prevention. Investigation revealed that the shoplifter, a woman from Ridgefield, had taken items without paying and was charged with sixth degree larceny and release after being given a court date.

January 23- Witnesses made a call to the Ridgefield Police about an intoxicated male on Danbury Road. The man from New York was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence. Upon further investigation it was revealed to the officer that the operator was in possession pills that had not been prescribed to him or in the proper container. He was arrested and charged with a DUI and failure to keep RX medication in proper container. He was released and given a court date for the offenses.

January 23- Ridgefield Police responded to a call from Stop and Shop after a theft had been reported from the store's Loss Prevention. Upon further investigation the perpetrator, a woman from Ridgefield, was charged with sixth degree larceny and release after being given a court date.

January 24- Ridgefield Police were dispatched to Stop and Shop after a theft had been reported by the store's Loss Prevention. A female from Ridgefield was caught on tape stealing and was apprehended and charged with sixth degree larceny. She was released on scene and given a court date.

January 29- Police responded to a four car motor vehicle accident on Danbury Road. The result of operator one's car bumping the rear of the car in front of them created a chain reaction resulting in the multiple car accident. The operator of car one was given a citation for failure to drive properly and transported to Danbury Hospital for observation of injuries.
