Ridgefield Public Schools host Mental Health Presentations

On Thursday, March 26, at 10 a.m. in the Board of Education Conference Room, Town Hall Annex, Dr. Barbara Rickler, child and adolescent psychiatrist, will be presenting "Anxiety and School Resistance" to Ridgefield parents. The presentation aims to educate parents of students in grades Kindergarten through twelfth grade on solution-based strategies for children who are school avoidant due to anxiety. 

Other upcoming presentations include:

  • Recognizing the "Warning Signs of Mental Heath Difficulties for 6th-12th grade students" will be presented again on April 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the BOE Annex.
  • Recognizing the "Warning Signs of Mental Heath Difficulties for Elementary Students" will be presented on April 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.mat the BOE Annex. This presentation by school psychologists aims to educate parents of elementary students on recognizing the warning signs of emotional distress. We will provide guidance on effective communication skills for talking with your children.
