Ridgefield High School Football Coach & Dean Arrested in Fairfield for DUI

Ridgefield High School head Varsity Football Coach and 9th grade Dean of Students, Kevin Callahan, was arrested on Sunday evening in Fairfield for DUI.

According to Fairfield Police Lieutenant Perez, Callahan’s vehicle struck a cement barrel before hitting a tree which caused extensive damage to his vehicle. Callahan had some cuts and bruises as a result of the accident.

While Callahan said that he was not drinking alcohol, two officers at the scene reported that Callahan smelled of alcohol and had glassy eyes. Perez said that they found a pint of vodka on the floor of Callahan’s car and it was half empty. Callahan was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

According to Fairfield Citizen, Callahan was released on a promise to appear at state Superior Court in Bridgeport on May 18, however Perez did not confirm this fact with HamletHub.

Callahan lives on Cherry Hill Road in Fairfield.
