Ridgefield Police Reports: DUI, larceny & more

July 11- Wilton Police notified Ridgefield Police of a possible erratic operator traveling north on route 7. The operator, a 27 year old Ridgefield male, was stopped and an investigation revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest and charged with a DUI and failure to drive right. He posted a $100 bond and assigned a court date.

July 11- At approximately 9:30 am the Ridgefield Police Department responded to a criminal mischief complaint at the East Ridge Middle School North Field. It was determined that a vehicle(s) was driven onto the football field causing considerable damage. Based on the investigation so far we believe that the damage occurred during the early morning hours of 7-11-2015. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the Ridgefield Police Department at (203)438- 6531 or the anonymous tip line at 431-2345.

July 16- An 85 year old male was traveling westbound on West Mountain Road. As he navigated a curve in the road he lost control of his vehicle. His vehicle went off the road and struck a stone wall. The vehicle flipped over and came to rest on the front lawn of 450 West Mountain Road. The individual was issued an infraction for traveling fast for conditions and failure to drive in proper lane. He was transported to Danbury Hospital for observation.  

July 17- While on routine patrol, the Ridgefield Police observed an erratic driver traveling south on Danbury 
Road. Ridgefield Police stopped this vehicle and an investigation revealed that the operator was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The 43 year old male from Pound Ridge, NY was placed under arrest and charged with failure to maintain proper lane and DUI. He was posted a $100 bond and is to appear in front of the Danbury Superior Court on August 4th.

July 17-  A 29 year old Danbury male turned himself in on an active arrest warrant that the Ridgefield Police Department held stemming from a June 2015 incident. The individual was charged with larceny 3rd degree and forgery 2nd degree. He was released on a $2,500 set bond and given an August 4 court date to appear in front of the Danbury Superior court to answer to these charges.

July 20- The Ridgefield Police Department was contacted by the Connecticut State Police Troop stating that they had a person wanted by the Ridgefield Police Department in their custody. The individual was identified as a 22 year old Ridgefield male. Ridgefield Police responded to CSP-Troop A and took custody of the individual. He was repressed and released on a written promise to appear in front of the Danbury Superior Court on August 8th to answer for the charge larceny of the 4th degree.

July 24- While on patrol police observed a vehicle traveling north on route 7. Radar indicated the vehicle was traveling 68 mph in a 40 mph zone. The vehicle was stopped and during the course of the investigation it was revealed that the operator was under the influence of alcohol. The 27 year old Sherman CT male was placed under arrest and charged with speeding and DUI. The individual was posted $100 bond and assigned a court date of August 7th at Danbury Superior Court.
