Ridgefield Police Report: DUI, stop sign violation & more

On February 24, the Ridgefield Police Department responded to Prospect Street for a report of an assault. At the time, the suspect left the scene and the investigation began. On April 22, the accused turned himself in on an arrest warrant issued by the Danbury Superior Court. He posted a cash bond and was released.

April 22 - The Ridgefield Police Department received a call of a possible erratic operation of a motor vehicle. Officers made contact with the vehicle on Copps Hill Road. The operator of the vehicle was determined to be operating under the influence of alcohol and taken into custody for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence. She was processed and released on a $400.00 cash bond and given a court date on May 6, 2016.

April 23 - Ridgefield Police performed a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle operated by a 44 year old Ridgefield man. At the time it was determined that he had three active Fail to Appear (PRAWN) warrants. He was placed under arrest and taken into custody. He was processed and ordered to appear at Danbury Superior Court on May 12, 2016 for 2 of the warrants and on May 13, 2016 at Norwalk Superior Court for the third warrant.

April 29 - The Ridgefield Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop for a stop sign violation at the intersection of New Street and Pound Street. The car was occupied by ten individuals under the age of 18. Most occupants were not seatbelted or were unable to wear a seatbelt because they were sitting on the floor and the cargo area. During the investigation, the operator was found to be in the violation of passenger restrictions. A large quantity of alcohol was found in the vehicle as well as several pieces of drug paraphernalia and a small quantity of marijuana. The operator was charged with the possession of alcohol. Two passengers were charged with the paraphernalia possession. The operator was also charged with the stop sign violation and passenger restrictions.
