Police Reports: Fake ID, Drugs, DUI & more

On May 27, 2016 while the Ridgefield Police Department was conducting routine security checks in the area of Ramapoo Road when they came across a vehicle that was causing a traffic hazard. Upon investigation of the vehicle the officer discovered all 5 of the occupants under the age of 18 and in possession of alcohol. All individuals were picked up from the scene by their parents. Each individual received an infraction for possession of alcohol by a minor.

On May 26, 2016 the Ridgefield Police Department received calls of an erratic driver traveling in Ridgefield. Police located the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Investigation during the traffic stop revealed that the driver of the vehicle, a Ridgefield resident, was in possession of heroin, marijuana, a narcotic substance and drug paraphernalia. The Ridgefield Resident was arrested and released on bond.

On May 27, 2016 Ridgefield Police Officers were called to Branchville Road for a report of a person under the age of 21 attempting to purchase alcohol with a fake ID. Police responded, and investigation of the incident led to the arrest of a Ridgefield Resident. This Ridgefield Resident was issued as a misdemeanor summons and released on scene. He was charged with misrepresentation of age to procure alcohol. He was given a court date of June 10, 2016 at Danbury Superior Court.

On Sunday, May 29, 2016 at approximately 9:39 pm, police officers were dispatched the intersection of Grove Street and Sunset Lane on a reported motor vehicle accident and possible DUI. Upon arrival, officers observed two vehicles with minor damage and one operator demonstrating characteristics of intoxication. The operator, a Ridgefield Resident, then failed a standardized Field Sobriety Test. She was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and unsafe backing. She was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons and is to appear at Danbury Superior Court on June 15, 2016 at 10:00 am. No injuries were reported. The Ridgefield Resident was released from police headquarters on a $100 cash bond.
