Ridgefield Police Reports: Unconscience Male, MVA, Forgery & More

On June 14, 2016 The Ridgefield Police responded to Union Savings Bank for a report of an individual attempting to cash a forged check. Upon the arrival of an investigation officer, the suspect fled on foot and engaged police in a brief foot pursuit. The suspect was apprehended near the south end of the Kohl's Department Store parking lot. He was placed into custody and processed for the following charges: forgery, criminal attempt/larceny 5th, interfering with an officer and possession of marijuana (less than 1/2 ounce). He was unable to post bail and was held at the Ridgefield Police Department until his court date of June 15, 2016.

On June 16, 2016 Ridgefield Police responded to Danbury Road for the reports of an unconscious male. Upon arrival the police found the accused passed out in the parking lot next to his vehicle. After the individual regained consciousness, the vehicle was searched. The search revealed approximately 5 grams of heroin and other drug paraphernalia. The accused was later arrested after he was released from the hospital. The accused was released on a $100 cash bond and given a court date of July 1, 2016.

On June 19, 2016 officers responded to a two car motor vehicle accident on Route 7 near Haviland Road. An investigation determined vehicle #2 struck the rear bumper of vehicle #1. Operator #2 was issued a written warning for following too closely. Operator #2 was transported to Danbury Hospital for further medical evaluation by the Ridgefield Fire Department.

On June 19, 2016 police responded to a one car motor vehicle accident. An investigation revealed that the operator was driving under the influence of alcohol with a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The operator was arrested and released on a written promise to appear. The operator is to appear at Danbury Superior Court on July 5, 2016.

On June 21, 2016 officers responded to a two car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Ligi's Way and Farmingville Road. An investigation determined vehicle #2 failed to stop at the stop sign on Farmingville Road, striking vehicle #1. Operator #2 was issued a written warning for Failure to Obey Stop Sign. Operator #1 was transported to Danbury Hospital for further evaluation.
