August 18 - A 25 year old female from Ridgefield turned herself in to the Ridgefield Police Department on an arrest warrant from a motor vehicle accident on May 14, 2016 on Route 7. She was charged with DUI and Failure to Stay in Proper Lane. She was released on a $1,000 surety bond with a court date of September 6, 2016 at Danbury Superior Court.
August 19 - Officers responded to a report of a two car motor vehicle accident with injuries on Main Street. Investigation revealed that vehicle #2 struck the rear bumper of vehicle #1 while traveling south Main Street. Operator #2 was issued a written warning for following too closely. Operator #1 was transported to Danbury Hospital by the Ridgefield Fire Department for further evaluation.
August 26 - After conducting a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle on Main Street, the Ridgefield Police Department learned that the operator was operating under suspension and had an active PRAWN warrant for their arrest. The operator, a 47 year old female from Danbury, was placed under arrest and brought back to police headquarters for processing. She was released on a court set bond of $200.00 and is to appear in Danbury Superior Court on September 8, 2016.
August 26 - Police responded to a two car motor vehicle accident on Danbury Road near Copps Hill Shell. Operator #1, a 23 year old male from Ridgefield, rear ended vehicle #2 which was stopped Northbound on Danbury Road. Investigation continued, the operator failed field sobriety testing, and was placed under arrest for DWI. After arresting him, he was found to be in possession of narcotics. He was processed and released on bond. He is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on September 9, 2016.
