Lewisboro, New York – On December 27, 2016 at approximately 10:36 p.m., New York State Police from the Somers barracks responded to a two-car head-on collision that occurred on Route 35 in the area of Mead Street.
An preliminary investigation revealed that Sigalit Leitner, 51 years old, of Lewisboro, New York, was traveling eastbound on Route 35. Patrick Vergara, 27 years old, of Ridgefield, Connecticut, was traveling westbound. Leitner reportedly crossed into the westbound lanes and struck Vergara head-on. Both drivers were transported to Westchester Medical Center for an evaluation.
Leitner was issued traffic tickets for failing to keep right and for crossing road hazard markings.
The State Police were assisted by the Lewisboro Police Department.
