Update: Ridgefield Police take man into custody after domestic incident in Bedford

Ridgefield Police report that on Tuesday, February 1, their department assisted Bedford Police in locating an individual after the person was involved in a domestic incident in New York. The suspect took his mother's vehicle and abandoned it on O'Neill Court in Ridgefield.

Police say the suspect then ran off through the [Ridgefield High] school property at which time Ridgefield Police apprehended him.

As we reported in an earlier post, as a measure of caution, students at Ridgefield High School and Scotts Ridge Middle School were asked to "shelter in place" until police took the suspect into custody.

Bedford Police have taken over this criminal case.
