Ridgefield Police Report Multiple Thefts from Motor Vehicles

 The Ridgefield Police Department is currently investigating the following incidents.

- On 02/04/2017, we received five reports of parked vehicles being entered on Danbury Rd (Rt.7). It was determined that these incidents occurred during the overnight hours (02/03/2017-02/04/2017) and that all of the vehicles were unlocked at the time. The vehicles were rummaged through with some of the owners reporting items stolen.

- On 02/04/2017 at approximately 11:00 pm we received a stolen motor vehicle complaint at the Branchville Train Station.  The vehicle, a Chevy Suburban, was located the following day in the West Redding Train Station parking lot.  The keys were in the vehicle at the time of theft. 

- On 02/06/2016 we received over a dozen reports of parked vehicles being entered.  We received reports from residents in the following areas of town: Old Stagecoach Rd, Bob Hill Rd, Todds Rd, Aspen Ledges Dr, Great Hill Rd, Douglas Ln, Mountain Rd and Lakeview Dr. It was determined that these incidents occurred during the overnight hours (02/05/2017-02/06/2017) and that all of the vehicles were unlocked at the time.  The vehicles were rummaged through with some of the owners reporting items stolen.   

- On 02/06/2016 we received the report of a stolen vehicle from Lakeview Dr.  The vehicle, a Sabb 93, was parked in the driveway of a residence with the keys in it at the time of theft. 

We would like to remind everyone to LOCK YOUR VEHICLES and REMOVE ALL VALUABLES.  Please report any suspicious activity to the Ridgefield Police Department at 203-438-6531 or dial 911 in the event of an emergency.
