Ridgefield Police Reports: DUI, Breach of Peace at Playhouse, Cell Phone Violation

February 1 - A vehicle was observed traveling at night with only one headlamp illuminated. After conducting a motor vehicle stop, Officer Murray and K-9 Loki were called to the scene. K-9 Loki conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle and indicated to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed that the operator was in possession of drug paraphernalia. It was also discovered that the operator was driving under the influence. The operator was taken into custody, processed, and released on a $200 bond. The operator is to appear at Danbury superior court on February 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

February 11 - Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop for a speeding violation, the operator, a 25 year old male from Ridgefield, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI and speeding. The accused was processed at headquarters and released on a $500.00 cash bond. He was given a court date of February 23, 2017 at the Danbury Superior Court to answer for the above said charges.

February 11 - At approximately 9:41p.m. officers were dispatched to the Ridgefield Playhouse to assist with an unruly patron. While on scene, officers determined that the patron was disruptive and causing an annoyance to patrons watching the show and was in violation of the Breach of Peace statute. During the officers’ interaction with the patron, he was being uncooperative and disruptive. The 40 year old male from Redding was arrested and processed. He was charged with Breach of Peace in the 2nd Degree and was released on a $50 bond. He is to appear in Danbury Superior Court on February 28, 2017 at 9:30a.m. for the above charge.

February 14 - While the Ridgefield Police Department was conducting traffic enforcement on High Ridge Avenue, they stopped an operator for cell phone use. While they had the operator stopped, it was discovered that she had a warrant for her arrest. The 29 year old female from South Salem was placed under arrest and processed at Police Headquarters. She was released on a $500.00 court set bond to appear in Danbury Superior Court on February 24, 2017 to answer to the charge of Failure to Appear 2nd Degree.
