Search for Missing State Police K9 Coninues in Danbury Area

Connecticut State Police Tracking K9 Texas went missing last night, Monday, December 20, at 6:00 pm when his handler tripped and dropped his leash. They were searching for a missing Danbury man in the area of Wooster Mountain when Texas got away. The missing man was found by police.  Now, the search is on and it's intense for K9 Texas. State Police have sent out text messages, robocalls, and social media alerts.

Community members have come out in full-force to support the police search crew, including The Prospector Theater who, tonight, stopped by The Elks in Danbury (aka search headquarters) to drop off several pizzas (thank you, Piccolo for the huge discount), Prospector-style popcorn, and lots of drinks and snacks.  Amy Ciota, the sister of Prospector founder, Val Jensen, spearheaded the act of kindness and plans on being back early tomorrow morning with breakfast and coffee.

Fellow Officers are worried about K9 Texas. Last seen in the area of 51 Sugar Hollow Road, the Bloodhound may be dragging a 15-foot leash. He is tan in color and wearing a green tracking harness.

Please call Troop A at 203-267-2200 or Ridgefield Police 438-6531  with any information regarding Texas.
