Calling All Talented Students

Calling all talented Rye students! Rehearse your monologue, brush up on tee song bars, practice your scales or tie on your dancing shoes for a talent showcase! The 3rd “Rye’s Got Talent” competition, hosted by the Rye City Lion’s Club, will take place on Saturday, March 11 from 7 to 9 pm at Rye Country Day School’s Dunn Performing Arts Center. Chris Shoemaker, Rye City Lions Club President, said, “As a service organization, the Lions Club gives back to the community in many ways, and we are excited to give students a platform to showcase their talents! In addition to supporting the Rye youth community, the proceeds for this event continue the club’s longtime support of Guiding Eyes for The Blind and Vacation Camp for the Blind.”

Participants must live or attend school in Rye, Rye Brook, Rye Neck, or Port Chester and will be judged in the following age groups:

Category 1: Grades 6th-8th

Category 2: Grades 9th – 12th

A winner in each category will receive a $250 cash prize. The talent categories include singing, dancing, instrumental, and drama. Groups may also perform.
