Acts 4 Ministry Names 3 New Board Members From Plymouth, Cheshire & Wolcott

ACTS 4 MINISTRY BOARD OF DIRECTORS WELCOMES THREE NEW MEMBERS

The board of directors of Acts 4 Ministry, Inc., a non-denominational, non-profit charitable organization based in Waterbury, has announced the addition of three new members: Eda Llulla of Cheshire, a senior financial analyst at St. Mary’s Hospital; Susie Jones-Szoldra, LCSW, of Plymouth and a staff member with DaVita Waterbury Heights; and Peter Damore of Wolcott, a business project manager with Cigna insurance.

“As we grow, our board of directors sought to enhance our membership with specific disciplines” said Sarah Elizabeth Carabetta, executive director.  “These new members bring an intelligence and strength which will help us achieve the next level of growth. Their community mindset will provide the necessary guidance to the organization.”

Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. is dedicated to building relationships with people while providing them with the basics of daily living needs. “Our mission,” explained Carabetta, “is to provide individuals or families who have suddenly lost their homes to a fire, flood or other unexpected devastation or upsetting life event to come to our facility to personally select clothing, dishes, glassware, furnishings, and other basic needs at no charge.

We partner with churches, social service agencies, and public schools to help identify and serve people with these needs regardless of their faith, race, creed, or national origin, or their willingness to participate in religious activities.” Each year the organization distributes clothing to nearly 4,000 people plus over 1,000 pieces of furniture and house wares to people of varying income levels throughout the Greater Waterbury area.

Eda Llulla has been with St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury since 2006 where she has developed a strong commitment to community. In 2014, she was appointed to the Main Street Waterbury Board of Directors and graduated from the Waterbury Regional Chamber’s Leadership of Greater Waterbury program. She is a graduate of the University of Hartford having received a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance, and an MBA.

Susie Jones-Szoldra is a LCSW who works with the kidney care treatment center DaVita Waterbury Heights. Ms. Jones-Szoldra has worked as a social worker for 21 years and she is looking forward to bringing her skills to the needs of Acts 4 Ministry’s patrons. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida, and master’s degree in clinical social work from Florida State University.

Peter Damore is a business project manager with Cigna global health insurance. During the past ten years, he has worked in the process excellence field with a focus in the chemical, health care, and insurance industries. Prior to those career ambitions, he worked as a chemical engineer. Damore holds bachelor’s degrees in both marketing and chemical engineering. He is hoping to utilize his performance improvement background and skills to benefit Acts 4 Ministry’s mission.

Current members of the Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. Board of Directors are Dave Rogers, retired project manager with IBM Corporation of Cheshire; Robert Zdanowski, CMA, Vishay International of Waterbury; Ellen Rogers, retired school teacher of Cheshire; Robert Knebel, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Waterbury.
