Acts 4 Ministry Received Donated Blankets From YPOWR's Warm Someone's Heart Campaign

The non-denominational non-profit Acts 4 Ministry in Waterbury recently received donations of new and lightly-used blankets gathered by Y.P.O.W.R., Young Professionals of Waterbury Region, during the organization’s 2016 “Warm Someone’s Heart Blanket Drive” campaign. YPOWR is a division of the Waterbury Regional Chamber (WRC).

Photographed during the delivery of the blankets to Acts 4 Ministry’s 1713 Thomaston Avenue building (left to right) were Ellen Rogers, Acts 4 Ministry, Inc. Board of Directors Chairwoman; Julia Weston, Thrivent Financial, sponsor of the YPOWR campaign; Elaine Weston, Acts 4 Ministry Volunteer; and Karyn Thompson, Acts 4 Ministry Volunteer Coordinator.

Acts 4 Ministry was one of six non-profit organizations in the Waterbury region that received donations from YPOWR’s annual drive. The mission of Acts 4 Ministry is to help individuals and families who have suddenly lost their homes to a fire, flood or other unexpected devastation or upsetting life event to go to their Thomaston Avenue retail shop to personally select, at no charge, clothing, dishes, glassware, furnishings, and items to meet other basic needs. The organization is dedicated to building relationships with people while providing them with the basics of daily living needs.
