Troop A Southbury Carry the Torch to Support Special Olympics on Friday

Connecticut State Troopers Participate in Special Olympics Torch Run

Troop A Southbury will participate in the annual Torch Run which supports Special Olympics in Connecticut. Officers will be leaving from Troop A at approx. 12:40 p.m. on Friday, June 9 and proceed to the Oxford Resident State Trooper’s Office – CSP PIO will be in attendance.

"The Torch Run will cover over 500 miles and pass through more than 100 cities and towns. Over 1,500 Law Enforcement officers and Special Olympics Athletes will participate in this year’s Torch Run. Officers represent local, state, and federal departments, agencies, and correctional facilities." -Special Olympics CT

State Police participation:

June 7, 2017 –Troop E - Montville will carry the torch beginning at the Griswold/Plainfield Town Line at approx. 12:15 p.m., and the Norwich/Montville Town Line at approx.  3:05 p.m.

June 8, 2017 –Troop L – Litchfield will carry the torch leaving from Troop L at approx. 8:00 a.m.

Troop B – North Canaan beginning at the Barkhamsted town line at approx. 11:30 a.m. and the New Hartford town line at approx. 12:30 p.m.

Troop C – Tolland leaving from the Mansfield Resident State Trooper’s Office at approx. 9:30 a.m., and the Tolland town line at approx. 12:00 p.m.    – CSP PIO will be in attendance

June 9, 2017 – Troop G – Bridgeport w/Bridgeport PD beginning at the Fairfield/Bridgeport town line at approx. 1:15 p.m.

Troop I – Bethany will run from Seymour town line approx. 4:15 p.m. to Troop I. – CSP PIO will be in attendance
