How to Make Peace with the Bees Presentation on August 5

The Southbury Garden Club will present a program explaining “How to Make Peace with the Bees” by Kathy Olson, on Friday, August 5th at 1:00 p.m. at the Southbury Public Library.

Bees are a vital part of our food chain, but often frighten people who fear their painful stings. This informative program will help us live in harmony with these amazing creatures.

Kathy's presentation will explain the anatomy of bees, their behavior in the hive and outside in the environment, and the importance of their role in pollinating crops. She will discuss Collapsed Colony Disorder (CCD) and other maladies and challenges faced by bees. No live bees will be present.

Advance reservations are suggested, because seating is limited. For full details, please contact Carol Shaw on203-267-4025.

The program is free, but donations benefitting the club’s scholarship fund are gratefully received.
