Lecture: Hilarity, History, and the Human Condition in Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Thursday, July 27 from 7-8pm in the Kingsley Room
Explore the history and hilarity of the classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail with Professor Brendan Kane of UConn's History Department. Sheer silliness aside, the question of why we find humor where we do illuminates a great deal about us and how we think about history and humor. By using historical analysis to think about why this movie still resonates with us 42 years after its initial release and more than 1000 years after its 932AD setting, Brendan will explore how this movie is instructive in our understanding of this period, history, and the human condition. Sponsored by the Charles H. and Ella Emery Rutledge Fund.
