Washington’s annual Car-B-Que on tap Sept. 10

The Washington Lions Club will host the 11th annual Car-B-Que car show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10 on the grounds of Washington Primary School at 2 School St.

The show features several awards for cars made in 1992 and earlier, with a variety of classes.

BMW will be highlighted this year with a special display of cars of that make.

Another highlight will be the appearance of three ambulances: a replica of a 1914 WWI ambulance, a 1963 Cadillac ambulance, and the Washington Ambulance Association’s newest ambulance that features the most advanced online medical technology.

In addition to the cars, live music and plenty of food will be available.

Proceeds from the show benefit the Washington Lions Club, the Shepaug High School Scholarship Fund and the Bennett Family Memorial Scholarship Fund at Wamogo High School.

The Lions Club founded the ambulance association in 1942 and continues as a sponsor of the association, which is one of only a few ambulance corps in Connecticut that provide emergency transportation at no cost.

Admission is $10 per car, $5 per spectator, free for kids under 10. Show cars are to be on the field by 9:30 AM. For more information, contact Kerry Washay at (860) 866-8626.
