War Letters Star in this Author Series

Best-selling author Andrew Carroll will talk about his books Here Is Where: Discovering America's Great Forgotten History, and War Letters: Extraordinary Correspondence from American Wars. Carroll, founder of the Legacy Project, was a New York Times best-selling author and was recently featured in AARP magazine. Program attendees are welcome to bring their own personal and family war letters.

Mr. Carroll will present his program on Tuesday, September 22nd, from 2:00 - 4:00pm in the Kingsley Room at the Southbury Public Library, located on Poverty Rd.

Carroll's work in War Letters has sparked a project to preserve the letters from the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korea, the Cold War, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Somalia, and Bosnia. These are glimpses into the courage, determination, wisdom, as well as eye witness accounts to some of the most difficult parts of our history. To learn more about the Legacy Project please see the project's website. To purchase a copy of Here is Where: Discovering America's Great Forgotten History, see here.

Registration is required for this free program, do so by calling 203-262-0626. The Southbury Library opens at 9:30am.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
