Today is World Book Day!
This unusual holiday is being celebrated by over 100 countries all over the world!
Created by UNESCO (United Kingdom National Commission) 18 years ago, it has become an international day to highlight authors, illustrators, books and READING!
Many countries have taken the opportunity to do this by encouraging school aged children to dress up as their favorite
book characters. So while many children are home from school today in our part of the world,
several school children around the world are happily dressing up as characters from their favorite books.
