Southbury Memorial Day Parade & Picnic on May 29

Southbury's annual Memorial Day Parade begins at 11:00 am on Monday, May 29th!

The parade begins at Pomperaug Office Park and continues down Main Street South to the Memorial Green. (Between the Town Hall and the Parks and Rec/Senior Center Building.) Immediately following the parade is the Annual Family Day Picnic at Ballantine Park, 611 Old Field Road.

The picnic starts at a noon and will run until 3:00 p.m. We will have a variety of activities going on throughout the day. There will be moonwalks, face painting, music, food and more.

  • Signature Entertainment "DJ Kenny" will be playing music and games from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.
  • There also will be moonwalks from "All 4 Fun" from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.
  • Face painting for the Kids will be from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.
  • "T-Bone" will entertain the kids and their families with music and games that will include beach balls, hula hoops, limbo sticks and much more! He will be performing from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.

Boy Scout Troop 1607 will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks throughout the day for all to enjoy. You can buy food from them or bring your own.

There is no charge for the Family Day Picnic.
