Elevate Your Horsemanship With “Ground Control” And “Under Saddle” Workshops

Then join Dan James, an internationally renowned horse trainer and clinician at workshops to be held at The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard on November 8th through the 11th on their scenic grounds at 4 Wildlife Drive in Newtown, CT   Exit 11 off I-84

Dan James of Double Dan Horsemanship specializes in liberty work. James was featured in National Geographic channel’s show 'Mustang Millionaire'; where horse trainers are given only four months to tame a wild mustang and turn it into a show horse. He placed in third and he was the winner of the World championship freestyle reining competition in Kentucky and he is bringing his experience and training techniques to Newtown!

The Second Horse will be hosting a two-day “Ground Control” clinic on November 8th and 9th from 9am to 4pm aimed at improving the relationship between horses and handlers from the ground and a separate “Body Control Basics Under Saddle” clinic on November 10th and 11th from 9am to 4pm that will help elevate riders’ techniques to achieve a supple, more willing horse.

Chartered in 1808, The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard (2GHG) is one of the oldest active Cavalry units in the United States.
