Woodbury Earth Day Seeks Vendors & Volunteers

Preparations are underway for Woodbury’s 22nd Annual Earth Day celebration.  Woodbury Earth Day is a FREE event that will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 11 AM to 4 PM at Hollow Park in beautiful Woodbury. As the largest Earth Day celebration in Connecticut, you won’t want to miss this fun celebration filled with, live music, delicious food, an artisan market, and earth-friendly activities for the entire family.

Woodbury Earth Day features 130+ vendors, a Main Stage, a Community Stage, a Kids’ Activities Tent, and some of the best food trucks in Connecticut.  “We are proud to be an event that focuses on supporting our local economy while also protecting and improving the nature of our communities, our land and water, and ourselves” said Carol Haskins, Woodbury Earth Day Chair.

The Woodbury Earth Day Committee is actively seeking the participation of volunteers, vendors and exhibitors who share in the vision of preserving a sound environment and supporting a sustainable lifestyle.

“The diversity of our vendors is part of what makes the event so special, and we hope to see many familiar faces along with some new additions this year,” said Haskins. Vendor applications are available online at www.woodburyearthday.org/applications. The vendor application deadline is March 15, 2017.

“Volunteers are also a vital component in making the 2017 Earth Day Celebration a success!” said Anne Urkawich, Volunteer Coordinator for the event.  “We have some fantastic volunteers on board but need many more for event set-up, event team members, stage assistants, arts and crafts helpers, break-down crew and more.”

Woodbury Earth is presented under the leadership of the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition (PRWC), a Woodbury-based environmental non-profit organization, with continued support from dedicated community volunteers, the Town of Woodbury, and New Morning Market.  Visitors coming to town for Woodbury Earth Day on April 22 are also encouraged to visit New Morning Market, where special activities in celebration of Earth Day will also be held.
