Teen Librarian/Reference Librarian

 Full-time 35 hours per week, Monday thru Thursday and Sunday. Works in Teen Department and Adult Reference Department. Responsible for reference services and readers’ advisory services for youth from middle school to college age. Plans and coordinates programs for teens. Develops and selects materials for the Teen collection. Coordinates with Region 15 Media Specialists and teachers and with youth-related groups about youth needs and services. Works at the Adult Reference Desk during the week as required. Responsible for supervising all activities and staff in the library on Sundays as directed by the Head Librarian. Knowledge of Teen materials. Ability to work well with Teens. Working knowledge of reference materials non-print or print. Ability to operate computer and various software programs and operate standard office equipment and audio-visual equipment. Considerable knowledge of library principals, methods, materials and administrative practices. Required qualifications: a Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited college or university plus one year of related experience. A combination of above experience and education may be acceptable. Salary starts at $34,192 DOE. Applications must be received by July 24, 2017.

Recreation Supervisor

Full Time. Develops, directs, administers and manages a comprehensive recreation program, to meet community needs for safe and accessible summer camps, aquatics, sports leagues and special events. Expected to work outside of normal business hours to manage programs and activities. Graduation from college with a B. S. degree in Recreation or Leisure Services, plus three to five years of related experience, including supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training. Custodian

25 hours per week, $18.00 per hour, Monday thru Friday 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Responsible for the inspecting, cleaning and maintenance of public buildings, and entrances under his/her care so as to keep them safe, clean, sanitary, neat in appearance and comfortable for use by occupants and visitors and to prepare rooms and facilities for use. Mini-Bus Driver/Utility – Per Diem

Per Diem Bus Drivers to transport elderly and/or disabled Southbury residents to and from appointments and the Senior Center. No prior experience necessary, although must hold State of Connecticut license with appropriate endorsements (minimum “F” endorsement), finger printing and current medical certificate from your physician. May also be used as a utility person to help with various tasks at the Senior Center. $13.00 per hour.
