Christmas Festival in Woodbury This Weekend

Getting a jump on the holidays will be an easy accomplishment  this year as the first weekend of December approaches . Woodbury hosts a wonderful Christmas Festival every first weekend in December.  This year is a milestone for the wonderful holiday craft fair that has been operated by the Woodbury Junior Women's Club at the Middle School in Woodbury for the past 30 years. On Saturday, December 6th, a variety of juried arts and crafts will be offered- jewelry, scarves, paintings and ornaments are just a sampling of what the festival goers will find.  Artisans from across the state as well as out of state vendors can be found here offering a unique selection. The doors will open at 9:30 and the show will close at 3:30. A festival of wreathes from 9:30-2:30  can be seen at the same location and the individual wreathes will be auctioned off in a silent

auction. The proceeds from this event will be donated to the local food and fuel bank- a generous gesture during this holiday season.

For the children in the crowd a special appearance will be made by Santa- who enters the building after being delivered by a fire truck at 1-3:30. Make sure your little ones have their lists ready to hand to him.  A selection of treats for the children will be available as they wait their turn.

For shoppers who may need a bite to eat St.Teresaʼs Church has a wonderful soup kitchen as well as the United Methodist Church that will be serving lunch.  The First Congregational Church and St. Pauls Church offer a shopping bonanza in both of their bazaars.

The Glebe House Museum and the Hurd House will be open to visitors during the day and also offer shopping opportunities in the boutique.

The day closes with a 4pm tree lighting at the North Green where all in attendance can enjoy carolers and music. This is a picturesque New England town that has both heart and character.  If you have yet to attend a Christmas Festival weekend,  plan ahead this year.  You will not be disappointed.
